DrakeAI vs Rocket Money: Two Very Different Apps

Rocket Money and DrakeAI do totally different things and I'm not sure why I see them compared so often.

Rocket Money is mainly for finding subscriptions you forgot about and canceling them. It also tracks spending but that's not really what it was built for. I used it for a bit and it surfaced three recurring charges I'd forgotten - one was a gym membership from like 18 months ago, another was some software trial I never cancelled. Genuinely useful for that. As a day to day expense tracker it was meh, didn't really use that part.

DrakeAI is just expense tracking. You type what you spent, it logs it. No subscription audit, no bill negotiation, no bank connection. More focused I guess. Been my main tracker for several months.

The way I think about it now: if you want to clean up your subscriptions use Rocket Money for that. If you want to log daily spending, that's a different tool. I use both for different things which sounds like overkill but each does its own thing well enough that I haven't bothered consolidating.

They're not really competing for the same job tbh. The comparison only comes up because both are in the "personal finance app" category but they solve different problems.
