How to Budget When You Live in 3 Countries and Get Paid in a 4th Currency

Spent about two years moving between countries for work. I got paid in USD, lived mostly in Europe and Southeast Asia, and had expenses in at least four currencies regularly. Budgeting was basically impossible with any standard app.

The apps I tried assumed one home currency. You could technically log foreign transactions but you'd get these weird conversion snapshots that became meaningless a week later when the exchange rate shifted.
